Conveyancing - a personal and friendly service

We are a respected local firm with many years experience of residential and commercial conveyancing. Whether you are buying or selling, a first time buyer, downsizing or relocating, we can help you.

Crofts Solicitors offer a friendly and personal service that keeps you in the picture, whilst safeguarding your interest at all times.

We are totally independent and are not tied to any estate agent or lender. We pride ourselves on a friendly and personal service and aim to make your moving home as stress free as possible. Most importantly we do not pay referral fees. This is a process where an estate agent may be paid between £100 and £200 by the Conveyancer for each client that they introduce. Who pays this? You do.

You should carefully check the Conveyancer’s Terms and Conditions as it should state clearly whether any referral fee has been paid.

The Money Laundering Regulations and the Law Society rules require that we check and copy the identity of new clients. We’d like to see you face to face at least once during the transaction to verify your ID, preferably at the outset. We need to see a document that proves who you are- e.g. a passport or photo driving licence or similar, plus something that proves where you live- e.g. a utility bill. Our reputation as a first class conveyancing service is built on a face to face relationship with our clients. We are happy to answer your queries by phone, fax, by email or in person (by appointment). Our office is located in the town centre.

We will be happy to give you a free written estimate, clearly set out to include the costs of all disbursements such as Land Registry Fees, Search Fees, etc. Your estimate will also state the name of the person who will handle your file. Our quotes are competitive and comprehensive, and our clients can be assured that the price we quote is the price they pay. We always advise prospective clients to check other quotes carefully as there may be hidden charges and “optional” payments that are an integral part of the conveyancing process. You may find that the cheaper quote ends up costing more than you bargained for. Our advice is always to check quotes carefully because not all quotes are the same.
